Kate is an insolvency and business restructuring specialist with hands on commercial general accounting experience. She has been part of the Clouts team for almost a decade.
Kate joined the Firm with a law degree, to further her experience in the Insolvency sphere and gained her qualifications as a Chartered Accountant during her first stint with the Firm. After 6 years in insolvency Kate made the move into the commercial accounting area to broaden her experience.
This period outside the professional insolvency discipline has provided in depth understanding of the problems directors and sole traders face when working capital is compromised and losses accumulate. Her experience, gained as a result of her role as an employee, fortunately for us, introduced Kate into the turnaround and restructuring world.
Kate re-joined the Firm in June 2020 and has taken on the role of “Chief Restructuring Officer” in our restructuring and turnaround work. Kate is recognised for her clear thinking and highly developed technical skills. Such skills are welcomed by directors during their journey of reconstruction and rehabilitation. These roles invariably last for 12 to 24 months where, on termination of the role, Kate is able to hand over a focused and efficient management structure for the directors to carry-on the business in a healthy state.
Her role, whilst administering personal and corporate matters and ensuring the viability of turnaround engagements, often requires detailed and at times highly sensitive discussions and negotiations with a range of stakeholders, including employees, trade unions, banks, and creditors.
Recent industry experience includes construction, retail, business services, agriculture, and hospitality.
